SO. . .Today is July 30th. Life stalled the last couple of days. The day after my last post, I was PLANNING to start my new hobby of repainting/refinishing wood furniture. As I was headed to the garage with the counter height stool I was planning to clean and prep, I ended up tumbling down the three stairs, spraining my ankle and hitting my back. The day before I had been thinking how nice it would be to just lay around and watch Netflix and relax. . .well, I got my wish! The Universe is always listening. 😉 I spent all day Wednesday and Thursday nursing my injuries and watching Netflix. I am happy to report that today I am feeling more like myself with just a bit of a sore foot and lower back. I am finding the balance between nursing myself and taking care of a few things in the house. One thing I like is to be productive!
Needless to say, I did not get to make my Ayurvedic meals as planned. However, I have been utilizing turmeric throughout the days hoping that will assist with my body’s inflammation. Don’t forget the black pepper! Black pepper activates the turmeric. You can read more about that here. I cannot remember who I learned this from, but I generally make up my coffee with a 1/2 – 1 tsp LOCAL honey, a shake of ginger, a shake of cinnamon, a shake of turmeric and a sprinkle of black pepper along with a non-dairy creamer. I highly recommend!
Also, this blog is designed to follow my journey through exploring Ayurveda and utilizing holistic strategies and products. I receive no compensation for anything; just sharing my experience! Now, to move forward – I am off to soak my rice and dal (yellow lentils) to be cooked tomorrow. The rice and dal soaking currently are well past their 48 hour mark, which is the longest you should soak your grains and beans. See ya’ll tomorrow!
