Hello all! Did you know that it takes 21 days to build a habit and 90 to build a lifestyle? I am aiming to do one thing a day toward an Ayurvedic lifestyle and most days this happens (ex: oil pull, scrape my tongue, start my day with a room temperature or warm drink or have kitchari. However, it is still a goal to have more than one Ayurvedic practice a day and something I am diligently working toward!
One thing that we have started this summer is a daily morning bike ride. Every weekday at 9:30 my kiddos and I head out the door with our water bottles and bike helmets and hit the trail near our house. It was a little rough in the beginning, but now the kiddos just know that’s what we are doing and we head out for at least 30 minutes. I think the last time I consistently exercised was when I was training for a half marathon in 2002! Anyway, this is something I look forward to each day and my youngest has started to lead the route to mix it up a bit.
The 21/90 rule has definitely fit well with our exercise. Things will shift in the fall as we all return to the school setting in some fashion, but we will think of a way to keep our daily bike rides an option! My next step is to explore more Ayurvedic meals and build that in to my day to day go to options.
